What Is Towing Insurance Coverage From The Hartford?

AARP towing If your car breaks down on the side of the road, one of your first questions might be, “does car insurance pay for towing?” If you have car towing insurance from The Hartford, also known as towing and labor insurance, then the answer is yes.

This car insurance coverage can help pay the cost of towing your vehicle, whether your car is in your driveway or 100 miles from home. No matter where it is, we’ll help pay for the tow truck company to get your car and even pay the labor costs for any repairs done at the site of your car’s breakdown.

Does Car Insurance Cover Towing?

For example, if your car breaks down and needs a new battery, this coverage can help pay the fee for the mechanic from one of your local tow truck businesses to replace the dead battery. It doesn’t, however, cover the cost of the actual new battery.

Or, let’s say you run out of gas on the highway. This coverage can help pay for a fuel delivery to get you back up and running. Without this coverage, you’ll be stuck paying the cost of towing your car.

If you have a separate roadside assistance membership, you may not need towing insurance. And, depending on where you live, the availability of towing coverage can vary. In order to get towing insurance, you must have comprehensive auto coverage on your vehicle.

In addition to towing insurance, we can also help you protect yourself fully with other insurance coverages, like liability coverage, including:
